If you go to a furniture store (no bad-mouthing here!) you will be able to zero in on a price. Honestly, that may be the main issue. You look at the price tag before you fall in love with a piece of furniture. If you find the price point, you are given a small number of selections. And those selections are online, in catalogs and in the homes of many people. Depending on the store, and the price, you are rarely looking at solid hard woods. You end up paying a little less for something you don’t really love.
